Firewood
Much of the acreage of Knoll Acres is covered with a mature oak forest. Some of the aging oaks are dying, so we harvest the main trunks for logs and then cut up the tops into firewood.
We sell seasoned hardwood (mostly oak) firewood for $99 per pickup load delivered within 8 miles of Knoll Acres. A pickup load is approximately equal to 3/4th of a cord. The larger pieces are hand-split with a maul & wedge; the smaller pieces are simple rounds. Lengths vary from 16 - 20 inches. We include some kindle wood in our firewood loads.
If you want long pieces, e.g. 4 foot lengths that are NOT split, we can provide those for you. Then you can get some exercise in sawing and splitting these mini-logs into what ever size you desire!
